About

Welcome to The Deaf Traveller!

Founded by Ed Rex of RexyEdventures.com, he is also profoundly deaf in both ears. Throughout his solo travels in the last two years, he has noticed a keen interest from other travellers about his deafness and how his deafness influences his travelling experience. From the bad to the good and to the downright hilarious, he often tells his story to many people destroying stereotypes, discrimination and raising awareness of they can support deaf travellers.

Also throughout his travels, he has received many emails and messages from many deaf people from across the globe asking for advice and inspiration about how they can travel solo without any stresses and worries about how deafness can affect them. This is the inspiration for Ed to found The Deaf Traveller in the hope to inspire, support and provide advice fellow deaf people to travel. Ed, with his online team of fellow deaf travellers, will also share with their readers on the Deaf Traveller their travel experiences relating to their deafness in differing degrees. Another objective for The Deaf Traveller is to raise deaf awareness within the travel community, travel brands, travel companies and even the transport networks to support deaf travellers around the world.

  1. I spy with my little eye Christ the Redeemer! I am looking into going to Rio de Janeiro or Recife in January. If you’ve written a blog post about either place, please link me! It would be cool to learn some tips from a fellow deafie (or two)!
